If your child is unwell you will need to phone the School (01252 545682) or email as soon as possible on the first day of absence to report this and every day of absence until their return. This should be followed by a note in the planner or letter to the teacher explaining the reasons for the absence on the student’s return to school.
If your child has an unavoidable medical appointment during school hours, please call/email reception or send a letter to their class teacher before the appointment. If your child needs to leave during the school day they will need to be collected from reception by an adult to be signed out.
An Application for Leave Form must be completed in advance of any other planned absence. Please note: Holiday requests will only be approved under exceptional circumstances. A copy of the form can be downloaded here
We encourage you to use your child's homework diary, email or telephone to contact your child's teacher. When emailing the school please address the email with the name of the member of staff to enable us to forward it promptly. Staff may not be available to take your calls so please leave a message with reception and they will call back as soon as possible.
It is important that all children's belongings are clearly named so that they can be returned to them.
Whilst every effort is made to reunite items with their owners, any unnamed items are brought to the office where they will be kept until the end of term. Any items not claimed by the end of term will be disposed of.
The staff organise and run a great number and variety of extra-curricular clubs which usually take place immediately after school and sometimes before school. We also offer clubs run by outside agencies. These clubs will be fee paying. Most clubs finish at 4.15pm

All letters sent home via the children or via schoolcomms can be downloaded here. If you require paper copy of any of our letters and newsletters, please contact reception and one will be sent home with your child.
We also run a second-hand uniform from the school office which is open after school alternatively you can send a request via this form.
Trips and dinners can be paid by card online via the Scopay website. A setup code will be given to you when your child joins the school. Alerts can also be set up to warn when balances are due or dinner money balance is getting low. For more information please visit our school payments page.
We prefer payments to be made via the online system, however, we can accept cash and cheque via the school office. Please make cheques payable to South Farnborough Junior School. Unfortunately, we are unable to take card payments in the office. If sending in with your child, please ensure that all payments are in an envelope clearly marked with their name and class.
