We have 4 houses at South Farnborough Junior School DENCH, ATTENBOROUGH, HAWKING and HAMILTON.
Each house is represented by two children from Year 6. Children wishing to become house captains prepare a speech which is delivered to all the children their house (Y3-Y6). A vote is then cast and the children elected.
The school council is made up of 25 children, who are elected by their peers in September.
The children each prepare a manifesto which they then present to their class. After a vote, two children from each class are elected to represent them at the school council.
The children meet regularly to discuss their views, opinions and suggestions as well as matters raised by their classes. The school council gives the children the opportunity to have their voices heard and feel a part of the school.
