    It is our school policy that all children wear school uniform.  We have high standards in appearance and parents whose children join our school, are expected to adhere to our uniform. 

    Uniform with the school logo (Polo Shirts, Jumpers, Cardigans and PE T-shirts) can be purchased from our supplier, Brenda's Schoolwear,  who are located at:

    The rest of the uniform (trousers, skirts, summer dresses, shorts etc) is generic and can be bought from Brendas or any other uniform supplier such as a supermarket.

    Second-hand uniform is also available to purchase from the school office, Please see details at the bottom of this page. 

    Some items of uniform are compulsory, these are highlighted in bold, everything else is optional.

    * Skirts, dresses and shorts should all be knee-length

    ** Trousers should be tailored style i.e. not leggings

    They will also need to wear smart weatherproof black shoes (see below) and black or white socks or black tights.

    Shoes

    Children should be wearing sturdy weatherproof plain black shoes.  Footwear such as boots, open shoes/sandals, flimsy ballet pumps are not suitable for school.  If necessary, children are permitted to wear black trainers but these must be completely plain black with no coloured motifs or soles.

    Children who do not wear suitable shoes to school will be provided with black plimsolls to be worn whilst in the school building.

    Children are welcome to bring a pair of trainers with them in their bag to change into at break and lunchtimes for play.

    PE Kit

    On PE Days, children will need to come to school wearing their PE kit. Please see the class pages for the PE timetable.

    House Coloured PE T-Shirt

    Available from Brendas or second-hand shop

    Plain Black PE Shorts or Skorts must be worn for indoor PE (just above knee height or below)

    Plain Black Jogging Bottoms or Black Leggings for colder months and for outdoor PE

    Please Note

    Jewellery/Makeup

    • Children should not be wearing makeup or nail varnish to school.  
    • Children are permitted to wear a watch and one stud per ear.  These must be removed or earrings covered with tape for PE and games lessons.  

    Hairstyles

    • Long hair (i.e. that reaches the shoulders) should be tied back whilst at school, this is especially important for games lessons.
    • Only natural hair colours.
    • Short hair should be smart and tidy - NO skin fades, tram lines or shaved designs please
    • Hair accessories should be small and discreet for school in black/yellow - NO cats ears, large bows or hair wraps please

    If you have any questions about what is acceptable, please contact the school before purchasing any items. 

    Lost Property

    Please help us to reduce the amount of lost property in school by ensuring that all your child's uniform and belongings are clearly named.  Items that are named are returned to the child's class, any other items are kept in lost property until the end of the term at which point any unclaimed items will be added to the second-hand uniform shop or disposed of.  

    If you would like to order sticky name labels you can earn some money for the school at the same time when you quote the school's code.

    We have a small selection of second-hand uniform which is available to purchase from the School office.

    Equipment

    Bags - All the classrooms have space for the children to store their coat and bags either in a cloakroom or in bag boxes/pegs in the classroom.  Space in these areas is limited, therefore bags should be of a reasonable size.  There is no requirement to purchase a SFJS bag with the school logo. 

    Pencil Cases - Although stationery is provided, most children do like to bring in their own so below is a list of suggested equipment they may wish to have:

    • Pencil case - These can be left at school and stored in their tray in their classroom, therefore should not be too big (e.g. some large Smiggle type cases won't fit).
    • HB writing pencil
    • Blue handwriting pen (for when then have their pen licence)
    • Colouring pencils
    • Eraser
    • Pencil Sharpener
    • Ruler
    • Glue Stick
    • Black small tipped whiteboard pen

    Please Note:

    Smart watches are not part of the school uniform and must not be brought into school under any circumstances. 

    Whilst mobile phones are permitted, they must be switched off during the day and handed into the class teacher.  Please note that any mobile phone brought into school is at your own risk and school will not be held accountable for any loss or damage.
