We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children. We make every effort to provide a safe and welcoming environment underpinned by a culture of openness where both children and adults feel secure, able to talk and believe that they are being listened to.
Safeguarding determines the actions that we take to keep children safe and protect them from harm in all aspects of their school life. As a school, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of our pupils.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility; all members of staff have a duty to safeguard our pupils' welfare and are trained to do so. All staff and volunteers at South Farnborough Junior School undergo checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and are fully familiar with our Safeguarding Policy and Child Protection Policy.
In all matters relating to safeguarding and child protection, the School will follow the procedures laid down by Hampshire Safeguarding Children Board together with DfE guidance contained in:
Working Together to Safeguard Children and
Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
If anyone has a concern about the safety or welfare of a pupil, they have a duty to report this concern.
At South Farnborough Junior School, concerns should be reported to one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) below by contacting the school on 01252 545682 and ask to speak to a DSL or email: adminoffice@southfarnborough-jun.hants.sch.uk marking of the attention of DSL
