Transition Visit - 2nd July

Our new year 3 children will be spending the day with us on Thursday 2nd July as part of their transition. The day will be an opportunity to meet their new teacher and classmates and familiarise themselves with the school. 

Please bring them to the hall for a 9:30am start and collect at 2:30pm The side gate to King George V Park will be open in addition to the main front gate, at both times.

They will need to wear their infant school uniform and trainers as they will be taking part in activities during the afternoon. They will also need to bring in a packed lunch, a mid-morning snack and a named water bottle that they can refill throughout the day. No sweets, fizzy drinks or nuts/nut products please.

The weather is forecast to be warm so please ensure that they have applied sunscreen and wear a sun hat.

First Day in September

School will start on Wednesday 2nd September as Tuesday 1st September will be an inset day.

On Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th only, they will start at 9:15am, finishing at the normal time of 3:25pm.

Wraparound Care

Our wraparound care is provided by CM-Sports.

Online Learning and Google Classroom

Logins will be issued to the children when they start and will also be emailed home so they can access from home.

Our main online learning platforms are: 

Google Classroom - for assigning and submitting homework.  

TT Rockstars (TTRS) - to practise Times Tables.

My Maths - occasional maths homework is assigned and completed on My Maths.  

Boomreader - online reading record

Emile - online spelling tests

Houses

We have 4 houses represented by inspirational people from the world of Sport, Science the Arts and the Environment.  Each house has an associated house colour which is used for sports and house/Buzzpoints. All children are randomly allocated a house when they start with us and will stay in this house for the duration of their time here.  They will require a corresponding PE T-shirt which is available to purchase from Brenda's schoolwear.
