Messages this week

  • Warm weather reminder - As the warm weather arrives can you please ensure all uniform, sun hats, water bottles and snack pots are clearly named. These items are often left outside during breaks, so makes it much easier to reunite with their owners! For the rest of this term we would appreciate it if you can:
    • check daily forecasts and apply sunscreen before school if necessary, and send in a named sunhat especially as it gets hotter.
    • send in a named water bottle every day (refills are available throughout the day).
    • if your child suffers from hayfever, administer an antihistamine before school, as they will be spending more time on the field at breaks and PE.
  • David Attenborough's 100th Birthday - We will be celebrating David Attenborough's 100th Birthday with various activities on Friday 8th May. Children are welcome to come to school wearing a green accessory (e.g. socks, hair band, hat, badge, scarf etc) with their usual uniform that day. The children will be set a nature themed creative homework (see attached) and also given a sunflower seed to grow for a competition (Y4 children at Wisley will receive their seeds on their return)

  • 3Z Class Assembly - 3Z will be performing their class assembly on Thursday 21st May in the school hall from 9:20am. Parents and Carers are welcome to attend.

  • 4Y Class Assembly - 4Y will be performing their class assembly on Tuesday 19th May in the school hall from 9:20am. Parents and Carers are welcome to attend.

  • Y5 Calshot Interest - Please see the attached letter to register your interest for the Y6 Calshot residential in February 2027.

  • Army Parade - We have been lucky enough to be invited to take a small group of children to attend the Army Pass-Off Parade of 1 (Fowler) Sqn on Friday 19th June 2026 at Alexander Barracks in Pirbright.  We took a group of children last year, for the first time and it was an amazing experience. The parade is a celebration of 13 weeks of training of new recruits. There will be approx. 150 recruits on parade doing marching etc and there will also be a band playing. This is not something that is open to the general public and we are very fortunate to have the opportunity for some of our children to attend such an event. This year we would like to offer the opportunity to any children who may have an interest in the Armed Forces who would benefit from such an exclusive experience.  As we have already stated this is a limited to a small group of children so we will be taking children on a first come first serve basis. We will leave school at 9.30am, in the school minibus, and return to school by the end of the school day. All children will need to be in school uniform and bring a packed lunch with them, including a snack and a drink for mid-morning (no fizzy drinks or glass bottles). If you feel this is something your child would enjoy, please email the school office, adminoffice@southfarnborough-jun.hants.sch.uk by 15th May 2026.

  • Y6/MLD Swimming - We would like to invite the children to have a fun day in the pool in small groups after their SATs. If they would like to take part, they will need to bring a one-piece swimming costume for girls or swimming shorts/trunks (not board shorts) for boys and a towel. If they have them, a swimming hat and goggles, but these can be provided. The children will take part on the following dates:

    • 6U - Monday 18th May

    • 6V - Tuesday 19th May

    • MLD - Wednesday 20th May

    • 6W - Thursday 21st May

  • Summer Fair External Stalls - We will be holding our Summer Fair on Friday 26th June. If you have a business or know anyone that would like a stall at the fair, please contact Mrs Plummer in the school office.
