Equality Statement 2024

Everyone Included, Everyone Valued, Learning and Thriving Together

At South Farnborough Junior School we are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all students, staff, parents and carers irrespective of age, gender reassignment, marital/civil partnership status, pregnancy, disability,  race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. We aim to build on our similarities and to seek enrichment from our differences so that all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and ability to fully participate in school life. We tackle discrimination through positive promotion of equality in our curriculum, by challenging prejudice and stereotypes and by creating an environment which champions respect for all.

We believe that diversity is our strength which should be celebrated by all those who learn, teach and visit us.

We strive to provide all our students with the best possible education, making sure that everyone feels equally welcomed and valued.

What we do:

  • Teach a carefully planned and inclusive PDL curriculum to prepare students for life in a diverse society.
  • Use resources and materials that reflect the diversity of our school, local community and wider population.
  • Promote attitudes and values that challenge any discriminatory behaviour or prejudice.
  • Record and report any discriminatory or prejudiced incidents.
  • Provide meaningful opportunities for students to appreciate their own culture and celebrate the diversity of other cultures.
  • Seek to involve all parents in supporting their child's education.
